Stratex announces the signing of an option/joint venture agreement with Teck Madencilik Sanayi Ticaret A.S., a 100% owned Turkish subsidiary of Teck Resources Ltd., to advance the Hasançelebi project. This is one of a number of high-sulphidation gold projects recently identified by Stratex in central Turkey.

Stratex announces its expansion into Ethiopia, having acquired, for £40,000, a 5.6% interest in PLUS-quoted Sheba Exploration (Sheba) and signed a Binding Letter of Intent with Sheba to earn-in to an initial 60% of the prospective Shehagne project and explore new prospective targets and licence areas in northern Ethiopia on a 70:30 joint venture basis.

  • RC drilling confirms all three systems at DoÄŸanbey, Karacaören, and Gölcük are gold-bearing porphyries
  • Best intersections of 155 m grading 0.17 g/t gold ('Au') in DoÄŸanbey South and 170 m grading 0.17 g/t Au  and 70 m grading 0.27 g/t Au in Karacaören 
  • Further potential porphyry system identified at OÄŸlakçı prospect in southern part of Konya Volcanic Belt on basis of soil geochemistry, alteration, and magnetic signature
  • Stratex planning further exploration programmes as Teck Cominco Limited's Turkish subsidiary ('TCAM') relinquishes its option

  • Total declared gold resources across portfolio of approximately 1 million oz
  • Strengthened portfolio - acquired additional licence areas bringing total area under control in Turkey to 1,724 square kilometres
  • Confirmed new significant greenfield discovery at Öksüt - initial drilling results included intersection of 270.2 metres averaging 1.22 g/t oxide gold
  • Announced Altıntepe gold-silver prospect in house JORC-compliant resource estimate of 602,600 oz gold, including an oxide gold resource of 472,318 oz
  • Announced total resource of 262,300 oz gold at Inlice prospect, comprising 98,300 oz oxide gold resource and 164,000 oz sulphide gold resource
  • Identified three new porphyry targets within the Konya Volcanic Belt with preliminary drilling completed at two of these, Gölcük and Karacaören
  • Actively seeking joint venture opportunities to accelerate the development of Inlice and Altıntepe through feasibility into production and develop exploration portfolio

Oksut exploration update - 26th January 2009 (111kb)

  • 93.60 metres grading 5.61 g/t gold ('Au') in oxide material
  • Drilling targeted the Ortaçam Zone, the first target in an area of alteration and mineralisation now recognised to extend over 8 square kilometres
  • Soil and outcrop sampling highlighted four new exposed gold-bearing zones and a potential hidden porphyry system
